Federal Lawyers refuse to provide information to the Court as ordered

The government’s lawyers are now essentially telling the Associate Chief Justice Gagné that they are not going to comply with the disclosure order. They are arguing that they don’t have to provide the information, producing a new document from the Clerk of the Privy Council certifying that the information we requested falls under Cabinet Privilege. The deadline for when the Clerk was supposed to have done this is of course long past. That is why the Court on May 27, 2021 ordered the government to provide the information under seal to the judge who would then make the determination of what material should remain confidential.
